Thanks for a very successful Birmingham Artwalk 2019!
Thank you to all my customers and supporters for making my first public show, the Birmingham Artwalk on September 6-7, such a huge success. I sold approximately 70 pieces of ink drawings on wood and print. Check out my artist profile and the event at the link below.
About the Artist
Mikayla Jade Hammock is from Madison, a suburb of Huntsville, Alabama. She relocated to Birmingham in August 2019 as an entering freshman at UAB. She has previously sold her work at the Flying Monkey Arts at Lowe Mill ARTS and Entertainment in Huntsville starting at age 16. Mikayla was selected for the Rising Star program at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) the summer of 2018 between her junior and senior year of high school. While at SCAD, she completed courses on photography and advertising. Mikayla creates her drawings using pen and ink and in a style of a drawing within a drawing. The scenes within the drawings tell you about the subject as they form its shape. Her work depicts a breadth of subjects including but not limited to animals formed by illustrations of their habitat, characters formed by illustrations of a popular scene, and people being formed by illustrations of their culture. Mikayla's art is available on T-shirts, posters, wood, prints, and apparel. Her art explores themes such as culture, animals, environmental protection, people, movies, and television series. Please contact her for commissioned work.
Now a resident of Birmingham, Mikayla has begun to make make her mark with the recent and very successful Birmingham Artwalk.
